City of Austin, Texas, Neighborhood Housing and
Community Development Office

Tekoa Housing Advisors worked with the City of Austin to help assess housing and community needs and provide expert advice on housing policy during federally mandated community budget and planning process meetings. As part of the development of its Consolidated Plan, required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the City of Austin annually conducts focus groups with local stakeholders to discuss the community's housing and development needs and obstacles to providing services. The city's housing office retained Tekoa Housing to facilitate the meetings and develop summaries for City Council members and senior city management. Tekoa Housing Advisors also produced a detailed schedule for the development of Austin's comprehensive five-year Consolidated Plan. This timeline incorporated the major elements required by federal and local law.
